I’m training at work today have some nuggies out of sheer boredom from my unclean brain that me and Alice have dabbled in discussing lol these aren’t like This Is Law they’re mainly just my takeaways from maaaaaany discussions hahaha WE CUTE

did we ever give the threshold au lore that they smell like peppers under unique circumstances like I really forget the entire context of that headcanon like if it’s when they’re scared or nervous or h*rny I forget lmao it was when we were researching salamanders for REASONS early on into the au content hahaha

there was also an idea we’d had over them doing tail dances when m*ting or in heat hahaha like Tom just doing it on the bridge and setting Janeway off instantly and she gets mad like “Darn You Mr. Paris grits teeth clenches fist” about it but also they both scuttle off for a “coffee break” together

Idk some other stuff like experiencing irritation under certain temperatures or climates,,,,,, besties just wanna go hide in a cave or some bog.

Janeway is a slut for eating eggs in any form, before threshold she loves eggs but this addiction has become concerning since “evolving”

The barbels/whiskers are veeeery sensitive in good and bad ways hahaha, I loved jellybeans having them twitch absolutely DELICIOUS love it, licking it

This one’s just from my brain because I’m cringe but I imagine for a while after everyone kinda picks up on the heat thing tom and Kathryn have with each other they’re both required to wear those little thingies on their neck that monitor their levels or whateva. Just a visual I’ve meant to draw and haven’t haha. I like to think the h*rny thing eventually dissipates with time, just them kinda acclimating to their own bodies and sensations. :3 for a while they resort to using the holodeck for happy happy fun times.

Chakotay sees the way kathryn is with her dumb lil babies when she’s stuck as a lizzy like doting after them and wanting to protect them from scary people she doesn’t recognize and I think overall he kinda just senses this primal mom thing Janeways always had and is experiencing as a lizard of all things lmao so he’s like I’ll keep these kiddies for Bestie’s sake like she may not like them right away but she’ll come around bc I seen what she like when all of her lil captainly barriers are stripped away aka BEING A LIZARD MOMMY

I think we were going with the idea that Janeway and paris are “successfully devolved” back into their regular selves but the process doesn’t last and consequently they gradually regress into this inbetween of the two forms :~) I like to think any benefits and hinderances on either side of the spectrum are leveled out in their new state; they likely have 1.5 hearts and PERSONALLY I think climate difficulties would be pretty minor for them, only an experienced irritation in drier or cold climates. They can also breathe underwater and have an instinctive fondness for being in water but it isn’t a necessity for them

I think we imagined Janeway would find out about chakotay keeping the babies without having told her,,,,, or he did tell her and she was Very upset with him for having done so, we pictured a lot less formal of an argument between the two of them teehee :3c where Janeway was very much like wanting to have left them there and chakotay was like very no no ur forgetting prime directive queen and she’s like I’ll simply look away from my moral starfleet compass this once just to not deal with my issues of being a parent to three lizards now that I definitely do not want for the simple reason that I’m engaged and also this wasn’t my ideal scenario for motherhood aka banging my coworker who is kinda more of a brother to me than anything else but eventually she’s like fine I’ll submit to my own code of living aka starfleet protocol and they keep the babies but janeways very angry with chakotay for a long while thus the coffee breaks with paris and chakotay knowing about it thus her avoiding chakotay and the babies in general HAVE FUN DECIPHERING THAT BULLET LMAO

I think we figured Resolutions would kinda be the START of Janeway beginning to come around to the idea of mothering her kids, prior to that she’s very moody and evasive with chakotay about being around them, seeing them in danger from the plasma storm in particular and wanting to instinctively protect them, it’s also very raw and in her face around that interval of time as well. I wish chakotay finished making his boat :(((( but I bet they would have waded in whatever body of water they had with the babies anyway teehee. She’d absolutely garden with them as well. And chakotay would craft up some cringe baby cradle and mobile and whatnot YOU KNOOOOOOOW HE WOULD. Maybe a rocking chair,,,,,,, blursed,,,,,,, idk maybe they’d name them down on New Earth too finally hahaha just slap everything into Resolutions lmao it’s so girthy.

Janeway ends up naming Edward and Amelia, she lets chakotay name Philippa :3 as a lil treat for raising them idk idk idk toms kinda checked out and uninvolved wanting to maintain his bachelor existence which is why he’s like so woooooaaah kids are weird I don’t have those for a long time. He’s more of a fun uncle dad ngl

Janeway is a super awko taco parent and doesn’t take to it naturally, she experiences a substantial amount of discomfort early on regarding the whole ordeal, she eventually levels out but it’s a very bumpy road of conflicted thoughts and disappointment in both herself and how her life’s turned out for a long time

Having webbed feet and hands were frustrating early on especially in regards to walking, but I like to think she particularly dreaded the tail hole they had to rip into all of her uniforms :]

I wanna say in between seasons three and four she’s reached a level of comfort with her situation, we’re rewatching the show again I’ll see if this perspective changes for me, I like surrounding it with her drastic hair change hahaha

Q absolutely tries tempting Janeway with turning her “human” again in Q and the Grey thank you

I like to think in a later season ep she loses her tail somehow and is sad about it hahaha, maybe loses her balance and everything cause she’s used to having it by that point

The threshold au development this week has been like Janeway and paris still mad Horny after devolving so they mess around for a while also paris absolutely does the salamander/newt I forget tail shaking ritual when they m*te also whenever paris like does something small like put his hand on Janeway they’re both like we gotta G O also they probably frick in weird locations also chakotays put together that it’s a rather scheduled thing like a mating cycle they have like he’s a little miffed but he understands it’s just kinda They’re Secretly Horny And Also Lizards slash platonic so it’s like a monthly thing they do they just sneak off chakotay and maybe the doctor know they do it but anyway anyway that’s like we’re imagining partially why chakotay had a tiff with tom for a while post/around threshold lmao I love canon also Eventually chakotay notices Janeway starting to spend more time with Him instead of paris like getting over her stupid urges and or just projecting them onto chakotay instead like she was a little mad a little upset with him for a while for secretly keeping their cringe lizard babies but she’s secretly glad he did and I think the paris fling was a little out of spite but she gets over it don’t worry
